What does 30 years of Densho mean to you?
For this significant milestone, we want to hear from our community! Without you, Densho would not be what it is today. Whether you have known us since our humble beginnings, or just discovered us today, we invite you to share your thoughts with us by writing an anniversary card.
In celebration, your message will be added to a compilation of 30th Anniversary Cards to Densho, featured and displayed during our in-person and virtual events, and in other public content. When submitting a message, you will have the option to make your card private or anonymous.
Submit An Anniversary Message
To send Densho an anniversary card, please click the button below and complete the submission form. While writing your message, we invite you to reflect on the following:
- Is there a meaningful oral history or family collection preserved by Densho that has had an impact on you or your family?
- Has a member of your family contributed their story, or collection, to Densho’s archives?
- Is there a Densho staff member who has helped or guided you or your research? Tell us how they made a difference.
- What impactful educational or historical resources from Densho have helped you learn more about this history?
Your message will appear on a special 30th anniversary postcard, designed by Molly McCoy, as seen in this sample card.
While you reflect on Densho’s past 30 years, please consider making a gift to help sustain our next 30.
Densho’s work—preserving family stories and educating new generations about the WWII incarceration—depends on the support of community members like you. You can make a one-time donation today or join the History Keepers Society, our monthly giving community sustaining this work year-round.
While your card honors our past, your gift protects our future. Together, we can safeguard history for the next 30 years and beyond.
